HSQE Advisor

Power and Infrastructure Resourcing curently have an exciting opportunity for dedicated and knowledgeable HSQE Advisor to join our dynamic team based in Derby.

As an HSQE Advisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the health, safety, quality, and environmental standards within our organization.   • Assist and promote Health, Safety, Quality and Environment (HSQE) and Operational Safety leadership for all teams.
  • Comply with and promote SPL Company procedures.
  • Assist the HSQE Lead Manager regarding safety and environmental risks to develop an understanding of these along with controls necessary to reduce risks to levels that are ‘As Low as Reasonably Practicable’, in compliance with legal requirements and corporate processes and systems.
  • Identify and implement any quality and efficiency improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and strategies across the function and audit compliance with legal and statutory regulations.
  • Be an active member of the HSQE team and assist the team to maintain full engagement in meeting business objectives.
  • Carry out investigations as required, liaise with the HSQE Manager during the investigation.
  • Provide support in implementing the Behavioural safety and Safety Culture Change Programme.

 

SPECIFICATION:

  • The person needs to be experienced in HSEA and operational safety issues on major programmes of work in the construction and/or rail industries. 
  • NEBOSH Certificate or NEBOSH Construction Certificate
  • IEMA Certificate desirable
  • Detailed knowledge of safety and operational issues
  • Good understanding of the UK and European legislative framework and requirements.
  • Min 3 Years Rail Experience
  • PTS desirable
  • Good understanding of railway process and procedures including railway standards.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Willingness to travel and to learn and open minded for new technologies.
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team and support as required.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to stay calm and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to different locations including sites and depots

ESSENSIAL: 

  • Experience in the successful management of HSEA and operational safety issues on major programmes of work in the construction and/or rail industries.
  • Good understanding of the UK and European legislative framework and requirements.
  • Good standard of reporting & producing accident and incident reports
  • Detailed knowledge of railway safety and operational issues
  • Good understanding of the UK and European legislative framework and requirements
