Senior Estimator – Glasgow, Scotland

Power & Infrastructure Resourcing Ltd is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator on behalf of our client, a leading provider in the Rail and Energy sectors. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong estimating or commercial background to join a fast-paced, growing team.

Role Overview:
You will be responsible for producing accurate and comprehensive estimates, supporting tender submissions, and collaborating with operational teams to ensure successful project delivery across the UK & Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed estimates and cost plans from first principles.

• Work closely with the Head of Estimating and Commercial team to deliver accurate tenders.

• Collaborate with operational teams, planners, and Quantity Surveyors.

• Support bid strategy meetings and client presentations.

• Identify new tender opportunities and assess resource availability.

• Contribute to value engineering initiatives, risk assessments, and benchmarking.

• Mentor junior estimators and support team development.

Candidate Requirements:

• Significant experience in rail or transmission & distribution estimating/commercial roles.

• Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a senior estimating or commercial planning role.

• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Candy, Causeway, CostX).

• Experience producing detailed cost breakdowns and adapting to client/project requirements.

• Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to present data effectively.
