Role Overview
As an OLEC 3 Linesman, you play a critical role in the safe and efficient operation of overhead line electrification (OLE) systems on the railway. Your expertise ensures that OLE installations comply with client requirements and national standards.
Responsibilities
- OLE Construction and Maintenance:
- Carry out installation, maintenance, and repair of OLE works
- Safely handle overhead line equipment.
- Inspect and maintain OLE components.
- Safety Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to rail safety standards and protocols.
- Implement the Safe System of Work (SSOW) during OLE activities.
- Follow communication lines and processes.
- Problem Solving:
- Read diagrams and instructions to troubleshoot on-site issues.
- Collaborate with construction teams to resolve challenges.
- Quality Assurance:
- Maintain high-quality standards in OLE installations.
- Conduct thorough inspections to prevent defects.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Work effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other rail personnel.
- Provide clear updates on work progress.
Qualifications and Skills
- OLEC 3 Certification: Possess a valid OLEC 3 competency.
- PTS (Personal Track Safety): Hold a valid PTS certificate.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience managing people and sites in OLE construction.
- Understanding of Processes: Demonstrate clear understanding of OLE processes and procedures.
