OLE Supervisor

Power & Infrastructure Resourcing is currently looking for an experienced and motivated OLE Supervisor to support the delivery of major rail electrification and infrastructure projects across Scotland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced OLE professional with strong practical knowledge of Overhead Line Equipment installation, rail construction activities, and safety-critical project delivery. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising site operations and ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

The Role

As an OLE Supervisor, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day supervision of OLE operatives and site activities across a variety of rail electrification projects. You will ensure works are completed safely, in line with approved construction drawings, specifications, Work Package Plans (WPPs), and Network Rail standards.

You will work closely with Construction Managers, Engineers, and project delivery teams to coordinate site operations, maintain programme delivery, and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality throughout all phases of construction.

This role requires a strong understanding of OLE installation practices, practical rigging knowledge, and experience operating within live railway and possession environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise OLE operatives and subcontractors on site during all construction and installation activities

• Take direct responsibility for the safe delivery and quality of all works under your control

• Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, WPPs, Risk Assessments, and task briefings

• Deliver effective site briefings and ensure all teams understand the scope of work, risks, controls, and safe systems of work

• Coordinate with OLE Engineers, Construction Managers, and other site supervisors to ensure efficient delivery of works

• Ensure possession arrangements, isolations, and protection requirements are correctly implemented and maintained

• Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and quality assurance checks to ensure works meet required standards

• Monitor progress, workforce productivity, materials, plant, and equipment availability across site activities

• Ensure all site reports, quality documentation, shift reports, and safety records are completed accurately and submitted on time

• Liaise with other contractors and stakeholders on site to avoid clashes and ensure coordinated project delivery

• Promote a positive safety culture and ensure compliance with all environmental, safety, and quality procedures

• Mentor and support OLEC2 and OLEC3 operatives, encouraging high standards of workmanship and professional development

Requirements

• Valid PTS

• OLEC3 Competencies (All Elements)

• OLEC4 or relevant practical experience to attain OLEC4

• Extensive practical OLE installation and rigging experience across multiple OLE systems

• Previous experience supervising OLE projects and site teams within the rail industry

• Strong understanding of rail construction delivery and safety-critical working environments

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills

• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines

• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel and work shifts as required

Desirable Skills & Experience

• COSS Competency

• Previous experience delivering major rail electrification projects

• Experience producing reports, progress updates, and quality documentation

• Good IT and computer literacy skills

• Experience managing resources, staffing, and project coordination

• Strong understanding of Network Rail standards and procedures
