Controller of Site Safety - COSS 

Role Overview

The Controller of Site Safety (COSS) is a safety-critical position within the civil engineering domain, responsible for ensuring safe practices during work on or near railway tracks and infrastructure. The primary objective is to establish a secure system of work that safeguards staff from train-related risks. Must have a good working knowledge of the rules to be able to apply this in their role. They also need to be able to deliver confident and effective safety briefings

Contribute to tasks outlined in the Work Package Plan and Task Brief.

Instruct movements, lifts, and sling loads lifted by on-track plant and lineside plant, adhering to National Rail Standards and Machine Controller competence.

Conduct oneself in accordance with the contract of employment and company handbook.

Prioritize health and safety, protecting colleagues, clients, the public, suppliers, and the environment.
