Authorised Person (AP) – Scotland

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Authorised Person (AP) to support rail operations across Scotland. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of safety-critical duties, including operating line-side switches, testing the OLE, erecting and removing earths, removing obstructions from the OLE, and using live-line measuring equipment.
This role works under the guidance and instruction of a Nominated Person (NP) to ensure all activities are delivered safely and in accordance with industry regulations.

Essential Competencies

Candidates must hold:

• PTS

• COSS

• AP Sentinel competencies

Ideal Experience & Skills

• Proven experience with OLE isolations and working in safety-critical rail environments

• Strong understanding of industry safety standards and Network Rail regulations

• Ability to interpret OLE designs, drawings, and wiring instructions

• Experience working on Network Rail controlled infrastructure

• Full UK driving licence
